Colorado BBQ Challenge in Frisco this weekend

It’s barbecue season!

In keeping with a strong 24-year barbecue tradition the annual BBQ Challenge is taking place in Frisco, CO. The event kicks off today with a concert, but no barbecue in sight. Officially the two-day bash (Friday, June 16th and Saturday, June 17th) will feature delicious grub, live music from seven bands, kid’s activities, the 3rd Annual Fire Fighter Cook Off, whiskey tours and a marketplace offering a slew of fun products. 

For 2017 Challenge, approximately 70 plus BBQers will compete for a variety of awards in the following categories including pork, ribs, chicken, brisket, “anything goes,” barbeque sauce, side dish, salsa and, of course, dessert. Each team competes for the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion…

Closing day festivities at Copper Mountain
