Grand Opening of the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center | Silverthorne, Colorado | June 24, 2017
The town of Silverthorne is typically known as a pit stop on the way to the slopes for most Denver dwellers, but on June 24th, the second most populated area in Summit County hopes to change that with a revitalized downtown experience. The grand opening of its newly completed performing arts center is taking place that day. The complex will feature multiple theaters, an arts education lab, a modernized orchestral pit, rehearsal space, reception lobby bar and space for in-house costume and set production, and it is slated to be the largest new construction theater in the state of Colorado. The 16,000 square foot building is set to open in conjunction with Silverthorne’s 50th Anniversary. The programming for the theater will come from Lake Dillon Theatre Company which has a 20-year lease on the space.
The town is planning a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new theater along with weekend-long celebrations. Find out more information visit the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center website.

SPORTS
Frisco Roundup | Frisco, Colorado | June 7, 20117
The 31st season of the midweek Summit Mountain Challenge series makes it debut on June 7 with the Frisco Roundup. Held on trails at the Frisco Peninsula — usually one of the first areas to dry out after winter — the Wednesday race is, in terms of difficulty, the perfect season opener, with categories for men, women and juniors. The Peninsula trails are fast and it takes riders on a tour with up to three laps on a 6.6-mile course known for rocky descents, flowy ridges and a few nasty climbs. Rides range from 4 miles to 21 miles, depending on division.
Local Accommodations
The picturesque town of Frisco offers plenty of options in accommodations and price ranges: Cross Creek Condos are conveniently located one block off of Main Street, the beautiful neighborhood of Frisco Town Sub, and the newly-built complex of Drake Landing Condominiums.

And of course, the Bike Crawl promises to stop at some of the best local bars and at the Breckenridge Distillery tasting room.

Keystone Big Mountain Enduro | Keystone, Colorado | June 24, 2017
The Keystone Bike Park contains some of the most rugged lift-accessed mountain biking in the U.S. and is one of the most popular mountain biking events in the country: The North American Big Mountain Enduro series, the Keystone Resort’s tree-day race taking place on June 24th. The event will feature five to six laps in a single day on the tight, rocky, tree-lined trails of the Keystone Downhill Park.
The series also stops in Vail, Winter Park, Aspen Snowmass and Crested Butte, but the Keystone stop regularly fills up. With rock gardens, roots, drops and high-speed features, there will not be a dull moment on your bike for this stop on the tour. The courses will challenge riders to the fullest and combine the top trails on the mountain. Throughout this one-day event, expect to see at least three rowdy stages, primarily lift-accessed with some pedal transitions, a non-stop festival taking place in the village, a kids mini-enduro and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.
